Sounds like it'll be a nightly thing where she transforms fully into a dog, and not a slow transformation.

Although, this sounds oddly like a bunch of comics and stories straight from this community. Perhaps the filmmaker is one of us?

I'd be happy to see Amy Adams grow a tail, but with my luck they'll skip over that.

There's no way the film is going to be out in 2021 if they're just now buying the rights to put it into development (and, in fact, the book itself isn't even coming out until summer 2021). It's not even a 100% sure thing at this point that the film is actually going to get made, even with the big name attached -- things like this have a way of ending up in development hell.
