All things Jekyll & Hyde....

I don't want to sound like an ass, but creating an entire thread just to discuss what certain sound effects mean seems like a waste of time to me. Why don't you just create a centralized thread to talk about this whole Jekyll and Hyde fancy you have going on instead of continually creating more and more threads based around the same subject?

I'm going to take a risk and put my head above the parapet on this one.

There are a few of us on here that really really enjoy the whole Jekyll&Hyde theme but are reluctant to discuss things in detail as it seems to produce a negative reaction.

Therefore: I'm taking up zdarkness point and creating a centralized thread to talk about any Jekyll and Hyde "fancies" people may have.

A niche within a niche if you will but I hope others are with me......:o

I'm going to start things off with this image:

Glad this image has your imagination running wild.

I have always liked the story with images in Oui Magazine, November 1979

Interesting timing (and I was just reading an article about weird coincidences, too). I recently began reading Eve Sinning's rewritten version of the original book.

I don't remember this shot from the movie. Is it a deleted scene? I vaguely remember a rumor about a sequence immediately following the moment where Richard sees his newly grown breasts in the mirror, where he fully transforms into Helen Hyde and roams the lab in a daze. That's before Richard's lab assistant enters and finds Helen in the shower.

If you look at the tie Helen's wearing in the above shot, it's identical to the one he's wearing during the dining room scene when he first begins to change.

I think on the DVD at least, it does show him pulling open his shirt in the lab and seeing the breasts before it cuts to the shower - but it's been a little while.

I know. I think this shot is from a scene in between that was removed from the film.

I'm thinking it is not a deleted scene per se but perhaps a production shot of the scene between him entering the building and the breast reveal scene in the mirror.

After leaving the cab I think Daly is switched out for Young who runs into the building.

Then there is a security footage for this scene and while not a direct match for the pose in the photo, The scene might be Young rather than Daly in the security footage for female movement with perhaps a superimposed face of Daly ala Jurassic Park but without the JP budget the effect might not have been as good as they would have liked so they used the security camera treatment to hide the flaws? -maybe

I doubt it comes after the mirror scene because Daly rips open the shirt and you hear buttons pop so I doubt there would be a redress and fixing of the tie before taking a shower.

The scene is from when Jeckyll shows the security footage to his fiancée near the end of the film. It curiously uses shots of Sean Young instead of Tim Daly.

Great work keyboard and genderhazard!

As has been wondered elsewhere i wonder if they originally shot both scenes with daly and young and intended to use them with an intent to use them with the mystery "lost" scene. Maybe the quality wasn't there and they added a cctv fx post production??
