In all truth, I prefer the FFDShow method, but that's because a little pain never hurt anybody. And once it's done, you can open the files in pretty much whatever player you want. Where-as a raw AVI is a massive, uncompressed file, FLV maintains compression and doesn't have the possibility of degrading the quality any further. And getting the DivX and XviD compressors to actually
work sometimes can be a lesson in patience.
