I picked up both "Jessie's Expansive Journey" and "Side Effects", and I wasn't let down at all as both of these projects are very well done. I like the background stories being used; each one is different and gives a unique feel to the clip it inhabits.
I love the trippy atmosphere of "Expansive Journey" - that's what she gets for playing around with shrooms.
The whole clip was done in such a way that I don't know if this is "reality" we're seeing, or if it's all in Jessie's head. I really like that uncertainty - don't know if that was intended or if it was just me, but I like it.
"Side Effects" was my favorite of the two and a lot of that has to do with the underlying story of a lab tech wanting to experiment with a new drug on herself. That's a classic (some would say cliched) backdrop but I think Penny did a nice job on selling the premise. The clip's ending also is interesting, but I don't want to spoil it so I'll just leave it at that.
