Or maybe she's hit and then gets splats onto the ground below, sending pieces of her flying all over, forcing her to put her self back together. It could either be all at once, or she could go around looking for individual bits and tentacles of herself as she's half formed.

That sounds quite cool actually. As for the splattering on the floor, the Body could reform the shape of Mary's body automatically, without having to find the other pieces. THis would mean that the bits of Mary that weren't with The Mind part of Mary, would form into beings exactly like Mary, except with the Body in full control as they go to try to gain sustenence from humans and she has to go and find them quickly to stop the Body taking over
