Y'know, it's possible that they get jolted out of the hypnisis because things are shocking/stabbing/barbecueing/freazing them the whole time.
It's likely that without that, and with only likely pleasurable sensations, the attack would probably last considerably longer, maybe until the next time they sleep? That always removes status ailments in RPGs...
