That was kind of the idea. ^^;
In D&D Lore, even the Drow, who are about as evil as a race can get without being from one of the nine hells, think driders are terrible abominations, so for a good-aligned elf like Celia to become one would be like a christian turning into the classical depiction of Satan, something universally feared and despised. Ultimately the passage was meant to make Celia choose between purity of body and purity of soul.
...Or do you just mean in the "bursting" kind of TF? ^^;
