Might not have been a fleshed out concept in the '80's. Mind control and possession are pretty well standard but corrupting mind and body transformations might have been a bit off? Another discussion topic. Nice!

I know EC transformations were big in the early Kamen Rider sentai series in the 70's. Definitely builds in the '80's where horror and experimental animation start to rise in anime. Saturday Morning cartoons had their moments too (He-Man episodes "To Save Skeletor" and the "She-Demon of Phantos")
