JBird (and chucarlin): I understand the admiration of the pencil medium, especially coming from someone with a DA page like your's.
I was a mostly-pencil kinda' guy back then, drawing and sketching everything in b&w pencil. Then I started with color markers and airbrush. And then... Photoshop came along.
I do need to get back to doing more pencil-shading type drawings -- smelling the graphite, feeling the smudging on my fingertips. Ahhhh....
Oddly enough, it wouldn't speed up my production. I think it would actually slow me down. Pencil is much harder, and less forgiving. A mistake can easily be fixed digitally now. Pencil --- ugh!
