Because Deadpool want's that Marvel's Most Overexposed Character title. Wolverine currently owns it. Previous title holders include Punisher, Venom, Cable and Spider-Man.
Come to think of it, the way he's written these days, he's basically an amped-up combination of Spider-Man, Cable and Wolverine.
