Re: Best detection method (A Warehouse 13 BE story)
Glad you like it! And yeah I plan on other things popping up in the story! I'm tired so this chapter might be a little short. My main fear is getting the characters personalities wrong, but I'm working on it. Anyway:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Artie had quite a lot of work for them this time. It seemed that he and Pete were going off on their own assignment, and Mykah and Claudia would be chasing down a different artifact. She looked over the dossier that Arty had handed her and sipped some of the orange juice that was on the table while Arty filled her in.
"So, this is what you're after. It's not really known what the artifact looks like, but it seems to give people the ability to defy gravity." Arty wore his usual business scowl, and he rambled off the description as if he'd memorized it in the night. "Sort of like when Pete and Myka used the Icarus Wings?" Claudia asked, wondering if she'd ever heard of two artifacts doing the same thing. "Daedalus' Wings, and no. Whatever this artifact is, it seems to reduce gravity. It wouldn't allow someone to make controlled flight," Arty continued," but it could help them-" "Leap over a tall building in a single bound, gotcha." Claudia finished. "Precisely. You're going to be flying yourself, so here are your plane tickets." Arty didn't seem to upset to have been interrupted, and he handed Mikah and Claudia their tickets. They knew to travel light, but still they left to their rooms to pack.
Claudia couldn't risk anyone seeing Mikah's present, so she quickly covered it with a large sheet and left a note saying it was an experiment of hers. She guessed that would keep people away, and she didn't care to answer the strange questions that would arise if it were found. Packing what she needed to, Claudia again tugged at her shirt. It was just a little uncomfortable, but she wasn't sure why. She pulled it up to her chin and inspected it, but she couldn't really find the reason it was uncomfortable.
Looking down, she decided that her bra was part of the problem, not being very comfortable itself. "Oh who cares, I'll let the girls have some fresh air. It's not like anyone would notice." She thought aloud as she unhooked her bra and put it in her suitcase. She placed her shirt down and felt a little better, although the fabric was somewhat itchy around her nipples. Still, she felt a lot better this way, and decided it wouldn't be so bad. Gathering up her suitcases, she made her way downstairs and out the door to Mikah's car, ready to head to the airport. They were going all the way to Utah for this mission, and she hoped it wouldn't be a boring flight.
