Re: Best detection method (A Warehouse 13 BE story)

Chapter III (sorry it took so long, but I won't just abandon this. It'll hopefully get better. I'm not really happy with how I've been doing the characters, I'm working on getting them to behave more like they would normally, but it isn't easy. This is actually very difficult for me to write, so I hope it doesn't suck too bad.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a boring flight. Claudia found herself distracted too easily in the confined cabin space. There was nothing to do, and her gadgets were all tucked away in her luggage. She pulled at her shirt again, finding it still uncomfortable, for some reason. She wished she could just take it off, but of course she couldn't in the crowded airplane, so she just fiddled with the fabric and tried to ignore how itchy her shirt seemed to be.

Suddenly, she heard Mikah yell,"Look out the window!" Other people were gasping in fear, and Claudia quickly climbed over Mikah to see what the commotion was. Through the small portal, she saw a giant garbage bin, a metal one that you would see behind gas stations and fast food restaurants. Instead of being in it's rightful place, however, it was approaching the airplane at high velocity, going straight up, and headed right for the right engine.

Everyone braced themselves, barely able to move before the airplane lurched to one side for a second. The plane wobbled and shook, and everyone screamed. You could hear the sputtering of the engine, but thankfully the wing was still attached. "Alright everyone, I know you're scared, but I'm making an emergency landing. We're right above the airport, and there's a clear spot for us to land. Just hold on and I'll set us down. This is probably going to be rough." The captain's voice over the speakers did little to ease the fear of the passengers, but they took to huddling in their seats now instead of merely screaming.

The plane dipped twice, sending a few cell phones and other small objects soaring into the air, but finally leveled out. The captain maneuvered the aircraft expertly, with hardly a notice that the engine was gone. The large airliner lurched down one last time, and they were on the ground. The impact was so hard that for a moment everyone seemed to be in a simultaneous head bob, and then finally, the airplane began to ease to a stop. Claudia was out of breath and frightened, holding onto Mikah for all she was worth.

"You can let go now, Claudia." Mikah's voice seemed to be filled with pain, and Claudia thought perhaps she was squeezing her hand too hard. With her senses returning to normal, Claudia noticed that Mikah's hand was very soft. Looking to see where her hand was, Claudia retracted her hand from Mikah's breast, embarrassed. She had been holding on with all her might, hoping Mikah wouldn't have a bruise. In the fear of the crash, she had merely reached over without looking. This wasn't her finest hour.

"I'm sorry, the plane was crashing and there were people screaming and I kept thinking we were going to end up on an island full of polar bears and I just reached over-" Claudia stammered out, still frightened from the plane crash. Mikah straightened her shirt and tried not to wince at the sharp pain. "It's ok Claudia, I was scared too." Mikah then realized that she too had been holding on to Claudia's leg tightly, her knuckles white. Claudia didn't seem to notice, so Mikah withdrew her hand quietly, noting that her fingers almost stayed curled in a gripping position. "Wait...polar bears?" What was Claudia talking about?

"Yeah, I thought we'd land on an island, you know with polar bears? ...secret installations? Bald knife wielding old guys? ...Wow, I brought Arty along." Mikah didn't seem to be getting Claudia's references, and they had more to worry about. Soon however, they were in their hotel, finally able to rest after the harrowing adventure on the airplane.

Claudia sat on Mikah's bed, tugging at her shirt. "So, was that really-" "A dumpster, yeah." Mikah finished. Obviously their culprit was at work. It would actually be much easier to find their culprit now that they had a location. Hopefully some camera picked up the face of the person that lifted an entire dumpster with a magical artifact and threw it at an airplane. "I just don't understand, so far it's been mostly robberies, quick getaways...why try to taken down a random passenger jet. There wasn't even anyone important on board." Mikah though out loud, always the observant one. "Well...that's not entirely true. We were on board." Claudia made a good point, Mikah mentally noted, as there were plenty of people that would want to destroy or hurt people that worked for the warehouse.

"Hmmm...that's definitely true, but there hasn't been anyone truly after us for some time now. We only left this morning, I doubt very much that anyone knows we're here...and would you stop that!" Mikah said frustrated as she went over and pulled Claudia's hands away from her shirt. Claudia hadn't even noticed she was doing it. "Sorry, it's itchy. Alright, I'm going to unpack. I have something interesting that should help us out on the case. Besides, my leg hurts a little for some reason, I want to go lie down." Claudia's upbeat tone was worrying to Mikah. Whenever she sounded like this, Claudia had some gadget she had whipped up that might explode. "Fine, but we've got to prepare to get up early in the morning, so try to get some sleep." Mikah said, moving to her own suitcase.

Claudia nodded at Mikah's back and proceeded to her room. She began unpacking her gadgets that she had recently whipped up, and began to get out a set of clothes for tomorrow. Absent mindedly picking at her shirt the whole time, Claudia went over to her day bag and opened it, finding the bra from earlier still inside. Thinking that perhaps this would help keep her from feeling so itchy, she took off her shirt to put it on. For a few minutes she relaxed without her shirt on, finally having nothing on her nipples to make them itch. Looking down at her breasts, she noticed that her nipples were not only relieved, but also sticking straight out rather prominently.

She smiled a little, knowing it had to be the temperature in the room. "You girls cold? You've had a rough day, let's give you a break." She reached down and pulled the bra on, and finally discovered why it was so uncomfortable before. It was just a little too small, barely holding her breasts in the cups, just enough that it was uncomfortable. Claudia thought about putting on another shirt and forgoing a bra, but decided that since she was alone, she would prance around naked for the time she was in her room. They had a whole day and all they would be doing was going over evidence. She could dress later. For now, she would enjoy the feeling of having her breasts free for a little while. Heading towards the bed, she absently reached up and scratched one of her breasts, and then fell down on the bed, quickly falling into a deep sleep.
