Hello all! Haven't had a lot of time to post lately, let alone write. Full-time jobs have a habit of getting in the way of creative pursuits. However, they do provide a bit of financial flexibilty, which is nice.
Anyway, even though I've had to put aside my stories for a bit, I have no desire to stop contributing, and have put my greater financial strength to work for the community in the way of commissions from Arania.
This gave me an idea, as well.
If we as a community contribute collectively towards a sequence every month from Arania (assuming she's open, that is), none of us would have to pay a lot, and we'd likely get some really prodigious sequences.
For example, a 12 page pencil sequence with 2 characters is roughly $216. But if 19 of us pool our resources, it comes out to only $11 per person. Everyone in the community benefits: Arania is paid $216 for her work, and the community is gifted with a TF piece that we all had a hand in crafting (in terms of what we'd like to see, the story behind it, ect).
So, in short, this is what I propose. Respond with the following:
1. How many pages you'd like to sequence to be.
2. Style (choose between Pencil or Ink, since color tends to be significantly more expensive for our purposes).
3. The number of characters you'd like to be in the sequence (more raises the total price).
4. The gender of the character(s).
5. The creature they become.
6. And lastly (briefly), the story/emotions involved.
Afterwards, I'll create a poll with all the ideas pitched, and we can select which one should be commissioned and how much it'll cost. Once the cost is determined, the community can donate to my paypal account in amounts starting at $10, and then I'll commission Arania with selected idea and pay her with the donations received.
It requires some trust from the community, but we'll be getting a lot of bang for our buck, and quite a bit of input.
Now, the only reason I chose Arania as the artist for this is because she's a damn fine artist, she's never let me down, she's okay with most subjects, if you pay her early enough you can see a quick turn around, her prices are fair, and she's an artist I have a pretty good working relationship with. Don't get me wrong, I'm not her *agent* or anything, but I don't feel even the least bit bad in promoting her artwork.
So, what do you think?
And, in the spirit of this proposal, I'll pitch an idea myself:
1. 8 pages
2. Pencil-style
3. 1 character
4. Female
5. Full Horse
6. A woman sniffs a new perfume, and finds the more she sniffs, the more she changes...and likes it. (Emotions: Surprise turning to Lust).
And go!
