Re: Man of Steel Review, Spoiler Free
The more people make the comparison to Dragonball Z, the less of a Superman movie Man of Steel becomes. Even that's an insult to DBZ, since the majority of the fights take place away from populated areas. And if Superman is such an inexperienced fighter compared to Zod, then how is he still a match for him, let alone to two of his flunkies? Maybe he learned how to fight from Jor-El.exe. I mean, how else does Jor-El know how to fight if he was bred to be a scientist? And how does he and Lara know how to fuck in order to have the first naturally born child in over a thousand years?
And there are much, MUCH better Superman alternatives than this movie. Hell, Invincible, as I mentioned before, is a better Superman, and that books chalked full of over-the-top violence on a city-wide scale. The only reason I have no problem with that (although, some of the gory scenes make me squeamish) is that book's world is set up that way. Man of Steel's world makes me think it would have been a better idea if Kal-El never came to Earth.
If you ask me, Bizarro should be in the next movie. He would be the anti-Superman: witty, heroic and colorful.
