I'm definitely one of the oldsters in the TF genre. I signed up to the TSA Talk mailing list shortly after it formed and I still fondly remember The Pile, the generic super-sexual stuff Thomas didn't really know what do do with. At one point I actually submitted a story that got highlighted.
I've seen a lot of stupid shit over the years. Lizardman threatening to sue Transfur. The fight over the old TF forum after the original owner left. A conservative Christian member banned from a Christian forum because they didn't like him representing himself as an otter. The fetish vs non-fetish members of the genre fighting each other. Copyright wars. Sites shutting down in fits of pique and link ban wars.
Things are a lot more sane now.
