the character is Yae Shinatsuhiko, she's a supporting character and is the land goddess, I don't know much else though so I'll start reading some of the manga and see if this is reoccurring or not.

It seems she first appears in chapter 35. Though I'm not completely positive of this. The problem is, is that my internet is not cooperating with speed reading/scanning. But that's as far as I got so far.

Seems I was wrong on the chapter. Chapter 35 explains her back story. So far she's first appeared in chapter 21.

As far as I can tell from reading the manga as far as I did. This never happened in the manga, so my guess. It was thrown into the anime for laughs. The reason her brother can do this though can be explained by the fact that he actually made her from a cherry blossom tree 300 years ago.
