Wow these are such a great find! I'm amazed at how much you've been able to dig up on this film as I have been searching as well and have not found much in regards to the makeup.

It's definitely looking like you're right though - there is likely going to be some sort of process involved with the scene based on how much work they're putting into the makeup along with those tracking dots for the CG.
