I've only ever done one commissioned piece, and that took about 30 hours for $70USD. If I looked at it as if it was my income and tried to equate it to an hourly rate, then I would never take another commission, but the fact it was something I would have wanted to create anyway, getting paid to make it was just extra incentive to spend a bit more time on it.

If I saw photomanipulation as work instead of a hobby, then I wouldn't offer commissions at all. I'm also super picky about the commissions I would consider taking on too. If it's not something I would want to do in my spare time and would just make myself, I will decline the job.
