In some cases, certain degree of darkness is widely used by directors to minimize flaws and "unrealistic" FX, especially when the budget is tight. For me it is ok if it is well-balanced, in terms of not hiding too much, but also avoiding seeing too obvious make-up, insertions of prosthetics and so on. For me, it looks like a very difficult goal to achieve, and as usually there will be people not content with the result no matter the effort you had put into it.
Anyway, as usually, good work Missa. I enjoyed it, expecting for that "soonish" update
