Damn, you work fast. *lol* I guess my vote is moot at this point, but I always think rays are fun. As Ivan states, it makes the most realistic sense if the mcguffin is supposed to be a weapon. Also, without waxing a bunch of literary analysis, there's a clear allusion to a gun - and injection to a certain extent - representing a penis that acts upon the transformee.
