The fact that Beth was tinkering with the morpherizer is also telling because the obvious reaction would be to get Rick to fix the situation… Unless Rick wasn’t there. Where would he be? The answer might be with Jerry at that amusement park. Although why he’s bonding with Jerry is an entirely different question.
This might just be wishful thinking, but maybe it is the classic Summer feels insecure wants bigger boobs, or a junky trunk or something. Tries to use the Morpherizer on herself or gets Morty to try to do it. It goes horribly wrong and Beth and Morty try to fix it themselves since Rick isn’t there.
