I have a character in my comic universe about shape shifters who hide in secret among humans.
She cute woman who owns a dog and lot guys hit on her and she gives them the brush off.
What they dont get is that behind closed doors she turns into the same kind of dog she owns. He not just her pets he's mate too.
I got the idea from that movie secret life of pets.
Not main characters but still a nice bit of world building.
