Re: Clearance Sale: Every Inch Must Go - Shrink Fan Comics
Sorry for the ancient bump, but I've been meaning to comment on this story for a while. It really stands out as unique among Shrink Fan comics. Nobody is exactly a hero, and nobody is exactly a villain. Nobody intended for Deena's tragic accident to occur, and Deena didn't really get her just desserts, either. The only true villain might be greed, commercialism, and uncaring capitalism.
I like stories that frighten without being actually gory or violent. It hits something deep in the brain. This one in particular is terrifying because it leaves Deena in a hopeless situation, a nearly invisible speck, possibly forever. OBVIOUSLY, what happens next is Deena's devoted fans voluntarily joining her in micro-land. If you wanted a somewhat happy ending, it's with a brand new micro-TAF show in a studio the size of a matchbox with a studio audience of micros. But that's not the ending we get. We're left at a point of complete hopelessness, and that's what gives the story such impact.
Bravo, well done!
