In a far-flung future, on a distant world out on the Outer Rim of the Galaxy, twenty-four-year-old Silanus of House Saturninus is forced to watch in horror as his father and elder brother perish in a catastrophic military defeat at the hands of powerful enemies, and then finds himself compelled to go into hiding down on the planet's surface when traitorous contingents of his own palace guard turn on him and seek to capture him so that they can turn him over to the victorious conquerors. With little other choice available to him, he (reluctantly) accepts the offer of a disgraced former member of the planetary elite who now operates an extensive network of prostitutes, female entertainment staff, and high-society 'courtesans' working at every level of society to allow her to transform him into a beautiful woman (by means of some high-tech futuristic nanites) so that she can hide him--now her--among the rest of the gorgeous young women working in her employ when regiments of the traitorous palace guards turn up looking for him.
