Classic Process - Grimhilde
Hi,
Looking through You Tube, I came across two scenes from Disney's Snow White and, after some time, I wonder if I could air a wee theory. The queen's transformation in the first scene, more JXH then fairy tale, intrigued me to wonder if the creative team wern't influenced by Stevenson's tale. The fact that the queen's behaviour becomes increasingly uninhibited, venomous and violent after her transformation into the old peddler, makes me wonder that, though her appearence was contrived, the latter form was her alter-ego; her desires no longer constrained by grace, beauty or reserve as seen in the clips. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ppHrQ9UEctI http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ3YwQ4AjO0 I know that it may seem like a bit of a stretch, but the similarities in both forms led me to wonder if their was not some greater significance. See you soon. |
