Fiction Branches Storyline (Offsite)

Yesterday I happened to stumble across this awesome storyline on Fiction Branches where the little brother of the main character made a wish for the main character to walk into a random bedroom and put on the clothes of the person who stays in there and mentally assume their identity while everyone else thinks they've always been that person. Meanwhile the original holder of that identity would wander off and do the same thing to someone else creating an almost endless chain. Also too, once they have the clothes on they'll slowly start changing physically until they're completely that person in body as well as mind. Recently though it seems to have died out and I'm trying to get it rolling again and am looking for anyone who's interested in contributing. Here's the link to the beginning of the storyline. http://transform.to/~zach/cgi-bin/fb...th=nospamstory

And these are the ones I've made to help regenerate interest in it.

That's what I've got done so far although I plan on getting more done today and I'll post those once I've got them done. Anywho I look forward to seeing this storyline being revived once again.

It's a cool concept yes, the problem IMHO is that from a first person perspective they don't really notice the change.

Yeah, I enjoy your work, but this particular branch just isn't my sort of thing. I prefer the subject be aware of changes.

Good job continuing it though. I know a lot of people will be happy to see it.

That would be nice having the person aware of the change, but completely accept it without a second thought

Erm, I must be blind but I'm not seeing any actual TG... just a lot of crossdressing.

There need to be more werewoman TG sequences!!

A TG sequence is not a TG sequence without process and a clothes change!

The thing with these is that people have to add episodes to it. It's like a neverending, choose your path type story. I made those with the hope that they would get people interested in adding their own episodes to it to get it going again which would continue the process and eventually complete it.

Re: Fiction Branches Storyline

Unaware transformations- especially unaware transformations where everyone is unaware- the appeal of them completely escapes me. I mean, I don't just not like it myself, I am unable to imagine how other people like it. They're like the exact opposite of the plot of Total Recall. Or a remake of The Long Kiss Goodnight where Geena Davis never remembers who she was and the audience never suspects she's anything other than a soccer mom and the whole movie ends up being about her everyday victories organizing successful community events.

I actually went and read some of those threads, and they're well written and aspects of the situation are incredibly cool and seem to have enormous potential... but without anyone knowing what's going on, the accumulating crowd of misplaced people gets hard to keep track of and just becomes a list of oddly inappropriate names.

The idea needs some constraints- for example, rules about who's identity the newly displaced individual is compelled to steal, perhaps someone who is some ideal compromise between having their clothes be physically accessible and someone the stealer expressed some envy towards recently. The never-ending stream of new transformees could be brought under control by having the theft chain loop back on itself, sort of an Ouroboros Knot thing. You could add limited awareness of the change by giving transformees lucidity when they're in the presence of the person currently occupying their "real" identity, (Because "Waitaminute, that's me!") at least until they've completely adapted to their current one. For a coherent plot, you could get a "Medallion of Zulo"-type thing going where a group of misplaced people (who have to stay close together to remember that they are misplaced) are trying to find the sets of previously-owned-and-worn clothes they need to get everyone back to where they belong- and of course, there are always some people who don't want to go back.

Wow Karma very well said, lots good points in that.

Also to add to what said above when I said I'd like to see more, I also agree there could be more process.

Re: Fiction Branches Storyline

It isn't so much the fact that 'no one' is aware of the changings that bothers me... It's the fact that there doesn't seem to be anything else besides crossdressing. I absolutely LOVE mind/identity change, but it just feels odd/misplaced when its just the person dressed as someone else.

As for the story itself, it seems rather confusing... theres way too many characters who just feel well... random. I know thats how most open 'choose your own adventure' stories go, but that doesn't change the fact that its a confusing mess of random people who only have an honest 3 pages of paragraph each before ending abruptly and introducing yet another random character. The Unending BE has Jim.... this story has Tony, Simmons, Sarah, Phil, Bill, Bob, Leslie, Alex, Phil-2 all vying for to be the main star it seems.

And unfortunately, the "it'll be there later, people just need to post it" excuse just doesn't cut it for me and (I believe) the process in general. Not only does it sound kinda lazy, but also premature. My stories will contain BE and TG in them eventually, but I'm not exactly announcing them on here right now because well, they don't have any yet.
