shrink effect

I wanted to ask how does one make a shrinking effect where the shrinkee's clothes stay the same size and falls off as the character shrinks?

It mostly depends on camera angling and such. From what I remember, you get clothing that's already very loose on you, and then bunch it up and slowly let it droop down from off camera.

You invent a shrinking device to do such and record the effects.
