New: Floating, Magnetism, Mute, Body Control, Clothes Control, Duplication

Hey neat new section! About a month ago, I mentioned some other category ideas, and now here is just the place to put them. (I added some extras here too.)

Floating:

I wrote a story about this once. I'll post it in another thread here,

Magnetism

People held together by strange forces, such as morphing clothes or personalized gravity. Or maybe I just want a hug.

Mute

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine did something like this in an early episode, (they spoke nonsense) and Eureka did it recently, but in both cases I was very disappointed because as soon as anyone was effected, they would just go to sick bay and be written out of the story. What if you and some friends had to do something complicated - defend against some threat - and you couldn't use language? You are surrounded by people, and you can't tell them what you saw or who the bad guy was.

Body Control

Someone can make your arms or lets do things that you don't want, but you are stuck feeling the consequences.

Duplication

Suddenly there are two of you! (Perhaps each half sized.) Is that other person really you? Can you get along with yourself, or will you end up fighting? We had a manga like this posted recently.

Clothes Control

Your clothes come alive and have a will of their own! All sorts of power levels have their possibilities. If the clothes are weak, they could just embarrass you by hooking on to things or people, or sliding off you at the worst moment. Stronger clothes might force you to fight them, or even make leave you helpless as they do what they want.

Or the clothes might morph. Laura Croft is in the mountain caves, and suddenly her hiking gear turns into a strapless ball gown and high heels, while her competition laughs.

Or the clothes could just vanish. The Defabricator or strip ray. You and your friends are walking through the woods or in the car, when suddenly Zap! you are all stark naked! And you don't even know why, or who did it. What do you you do?

If you are in the car, you can still crouch and drive around, but where would you go? In the woods, who would you pick to ask for help? What if you are cat burglars, and this is someone's defense. I'd think there would be all sorts of stories, but do they exist?

These would be particularly fun in combination with existing Processes. For example:

- You are slowly shrinking, you know the cure. But you also can't speak so you can't tell anyone who did this to you, or what they need to do to stop it.

- BE plus Magnetism. Your boobs are growing, and guy's hands keep getting yanked into grabbing them!

Looking at your thread, it looks like we've got the same idea. I've got the monster outfit going in my "bandwagon" thread. (Which I will get back to in a day or two.)

Magnetism is a bit hard to convey visually in just one drawing. (A strip might be better.) In this case, Soy (the blond) through some potions at herself and Kooh - who tried to block them with his hands. His hands got magnetized, and were pulled right to Soy.

Another attachment scene. In this case, it is the fabrics in their clothes that are animated and begin sewing themselves to the clothes of other people. (And making finger loops so that people can't slip out of the clothes.)

StickySite is a great place for both magnetism and body control. There's a scene from Eureka that was posted on Sticky-Site years ago that is an excellent intro to magnetism.

Unfortunately, the story and art sections of StickySite are still down. Only the forums are currently available.
