Gameplay Statistics Study (a.k.a Help Me With My Homework, Please!)

Hello everyone! I'm taking a Statistics class this year in college, and the assignment we're working on requires me to get some real-world information, so I decided to go with video games.

Basically, just choose the option that fits the best for you. Thanks in advance!

(Also, I don't care what you prefer to answer "gender" with. Do whatever you feel like doing, ok?)

Going through Lego Marvel Super Heroes and getting the collectibles for an hour or two has been the only thing I've been playing on my PS3, lately. When it's not that, I'm playing Pokemon Y, watching something on Netflix or reading.

Poll may work better with more options and with the ability for multiple answers as some people play a portable system and a console or more than one console/handheld. Just a suggestion but having options like Xbox ps3 wii/wiiu (one option) Ds/3Ds (one option) psp/ps vita (one option) pc and add options for over/ under x number of hour since a quiz with multiple answers will allow this to reflect a total. For instance over x console hours and under x console hours. Then over x handheld hours and under x handheld hours.

I agree, though I don't think a poll is suitable for this study. Perhaps some sort of survey would suit your needs?

In any case, I play the PS3 for a little over 10 hours a week, give or take. On the other hand, I carry my 3DS around with me. While I can rack up a fair amount of playtime on that one, I doubt it's as much as the PS3, so it's probably under 10 hours a week.

Assuming these answers are still useful... 3DS for a good 2ish hours on a weekday, and god knows how many on weekends. Pokemon and all.

I don't know exactly how this data would be used, but the poll may be fine. Of course, TG will probably have to break down the data, since each poll choice contains variables that are nominal and ratio data. Of course, he could code each category as nominal data, but this is going to be limiting to any statistical work that deals with ANOVA or regression.

With that said, the PSX1 was the last console I ever bought, so I'm not even in the population that this data represents. Umm, external validity FTW, I guess.

Edit: Saw that the poll asks for less than or more than 10 hours a week, which could either be nominal or ordinal level data, I suppose, depending on how its used.
