Ant-Man Movie

I didn't see anything about this yet and recent developments have been...interesting.

First, in addition to Paul Rudd - now confirmed as Scott Lang - they've announced who will play Hank Pym. If you haven't heard it yet, it's just insane, like more bizarre and honestly just plain fun to think about than James Spader as Ultron.

Second, along with another actor in a supporting or villain role, we will know who is the female lead - fingers crossed it's for Janet Van Dyne - in about 3 months when the film is to start production.

Hmm... I really hoped it would be about Hank Pym, but I supposed there are far too many scientist superhero movies out there as it is. I suppose it also means this movie isn't going to spend half its run time with Pym developing Pym Particles either.
Shame I was hoping to see Pym go from Ant Man to Giant Man in one film. Maybe in the sequel he'll go a bit batty and come back as Yellow Jacket.

I don't think it's in the link I posted, but I read in one of the initial releases that they'll mention Pym's first contact with the particles, which is a reference to a pre-Marvel series, "Tales to Astonish" I believe. That can be fun, but it also might mean we're going to see Michael Douglas CGI'd younger, which I don't think has really been perfected yet.

And who's to say GM won't happen? Since Pym and Lang will be rivals (Lang steals his tech after all), Pym might have to develop / bring back the growing formula to either deal with him or help him fight the main villain.

Most instances of Pym I know of seem to have him going between his big and small forms rather liberally. That's a pretty sound theory, assuming Lang steals/uses Pym's tech, Giant Man could be development that happens in the first movie.

Ant Man? Marvel's really digging up the B-level heroes now. I realize he was a charter member of the Avengers, but there's a reason he wasn't in the movie. What's next? An Alpha Flight movie? Moon Knight? A Havok Chronicles TV series? How about Deathlok? Quazar? Maybe Adam Warlock? I know, Night Thrasher!

Actually, they're making a Guardians of the Galaxy movie next.

Honestly, I don't really care what project it is - as long as Edgar Wright's directing it - I'll be there!

It depends on the characters I guess. Considering Superhero films are now big money, and people are probably a little sick of Batman and Wolverine, and Spiderman, Its possible that these lesser characters may do pretty well.
At the very least, if we can get characters like Electra and Jonaha Hex, Ant Man has a shot.

Really wishing they did this movie BEFORE Avengers 2...and put Ant-Man into the team so that HE could be the one who made Ultron (like originally...) rather than Tony Stark.

But as it stands, they have no plans to put him into The Avengers, so they had to retcon the story :\
