Anyone Play D&D 5e?

Title.

My current group, which I've been gaming with for the better part of 17 years, is, well, beginning to suck. So, I'm looking for some fellow Process members to game with over Skype or AIM or something.

PM me if you run an online game and have room for one more.

Kinda hard to find games unless you're starting one yourself, but this may be helpful:

Re: Anyone Play D&D 5e?

I just started myself, but I had a question.

Believe it or not, I'm D-Ming and I had an idea to test the waters, so to speak, with the crew I run: A TG Interlude.

Like, one party member has an unpleasant reacttion to a local herbalist's cooking and -POOF- they are now a lady. All I know is since it's a lady elf herbalist, the cooking shouldn't affect those of Elf lineage. I'm looking to change their stats as a result and send them on a short quest to turn them back. Thoughts on such changes?

So far, I know I'm going to slightly diminish Strength (1d4)
Increase Charisma (1d4)
And there'll be an Insight/Wisdom bonus if they don't get violent with the campaign starter.

Re: Anyone Play D&D 5e?

You might want a temporary decrease in Dex and Perception until she gets used to her new form. Save the Insight/Wisdom bonus until your player has had some experiences to learn from.

Include some reason why the herbalist isn't at her best at the moment. Perhaps she is shaken up from having been attacked, or trying to undo a curse that someone put on the party?

If your players aren't into TG it might be better to change more then one of them, or perhaps even all the males. Then no one will be freaked out and put on the spot.

I would strongly advise against changing a player's stats without talking with them beforehand. Especially since in 5e there aren't supposed to be any significant statistical differences between the genders. You'd essentially be screwing with a majority of martial classes.

Just wanting to change back should be motivation enough without penalizing anyone relying on strength, and some Warlock/Bard/Sorcerer players may just suck up the change for their increased capability.

Also, what's your plan if your d4 increase manages to break the stat cap?

TL;DR: Fucking with a player's character is more likely to make them hostile to the idea unless the changes are purely cosmetic.

Agreed, but I've never found stat caps to be an issue if they're treated as a hard limit.

Hmmm... ultimately Link has to be the judge of what works for his players. Cursed items and traps have always been a part of the game.

Yep. In my game of choice this is akin to the Radiation Accident. Make sure the player is totally on board or you can live without the player in your circle of friends.
