Just letting everyone know that my blog is up and running again. Some of you mighht have noticed that it was down but quite some time now. But it is working and with new address so everyone who is still checking it should bookmark this. Here it is:

To compensate for the lack of updates, I posted my first comic that was ever based upon my written work and it was drawn by Mamabliss. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the comic. Until next post.

The comic was only $50. Mamabliss made this price to be fair to anyone who want to commission comcis form her. As for the other pics, I just have a lot of free time and I request commissions of my characters as a hobby. It just that I really care abotu my characters and stories since I put so much work into them.

Not bad. I've never cared for Mamabliss' style all that much (Would it kill him/her to draw a clean line for once?) but it's a neat little comic nonetheless.

I concur. Since artistically, the range of what can be "expressed" is wide, and those who like the variations have their own individual opinions on the matter.

tl;dr

Different strokes for different folks.

Mammabliss goes at comics and art with a abstract, almost Piccaso-esque way. While this is definetely a form of artistic expression, it is a rather higly confusing one for a comic as many elements blend into one another and most of the action is lost in the blur.

Personally, I'm just not too thrilled about Mamabliss's artwork since it does range into the abstract. It just doesn't fit with what I like. Usually, I prefer more detailed artwork that holds its "shape" better.

There's something raw and wet about MamaBliss's style that makes for a refreshing change of pace once in a while. Generally I like anime-style crisp lines myself tho.

eeeeeeeeeyah? Don?t take any of this the wrong way? You asked for my thoughts and I?ll give them. And I haven?t read any of your stories so I?m making my conclusions based on this.

I?ll start with some general criticism.

I think your biggest issue is best explained when you described exactly where you got your inspiration from other characters. Your characters were not inspired, they ?are? reformatted characters. If that was your intent, then you nailed it. But there is about 25% creativity here. You said it yourself? People are easily mistaking your characters for the characters you based yours on. You only changed them later, slightly so there would be a greater distinction? Original characters may sometimes have a distant comparison, but usually are very unique. (Master Chef = Robocop.)

Anime has destroyed your imagination?

I understand that basically, your characters are existing in the ?anime realm?. However the characters themselves are not playing roles. They are a bunch of different aspects of anime stories and characters blended together. Err? that was kind of confusing. Let me draw a comparison.

Example:
My characters have a basic creator history in one base reality? Nothing too specific. Let?s use Molly as an example? I removed her character post from the RP game so I?ll have to describe it more here. (See attached Image) She basically is a Premian (alien) soldier. Some of her history is consistent, like family and upbringing. Now if I cast her in a story like the RP game. Her history will change slightly to fit the Role. A variation of this would be that she is not an alien, but a human that was turned into a werewolf. Her personality would remain the same, but her personal history could be adjusted to fit the story. Not too much to make her a different person.

She is now a character playing a role.

Characters almost always are created for a specific Role. If you?re creating a character that fits a role already played by another character, then your character and the existing character will end up quite similar?

So? Since your characters are in most cases. (That I see.) Taking roles in an anime story and interacting very similarly to the main characters in that anime. They are becoming like the main characters in that anime?

I guess what I?m trying to say. (and failing miserably at it.) Is that, your characters have this ?It?s been done.? feel, and you know it.

Let?s face it. Young Male Martial-artist Hero character, with a nice-guy naive attitude. Has three young busty beautiful martial-artist girls who are inexplicably in love with him. Following him around on magical adventures. ? You don?t get more ?It?s been done.? then that in anime?

Now? I?m just analyzing your character bases. Again, I haven?t read any of your stories so I can?t comment on the personalities you gave them? They may act quite different from there representative characters. They may not.

If any of what I just said made any sense? I would be pleasantly surprised.

The upshot is, your characters are not beyond redemption? you might consider distancing them from there comparisons more. If you want them to exist in an anime universe I think it would be a good Idea not to mix series. Also, avoid overwriting any existing plot involving main characters. Keep you own characters away from situations that have been established in the original series? So the fabric of space time doesn?t tear open and destroy us all.

Maybe adjust there origins to be more generic. So they could play a role in another series without destroying continuity.

First impressions when reading your characters and reality?
Your girls are essentially slaves. Each one of them is totally dependant on you and you wrote there characters so they would have no choice. An Android programmed to love you? A vampire that is in love with you through a magic spell? and a warrior who is bound to love you by tribal tradition? They are hollow? They really don?t love you nor did your character do anything worth there affection. It?s fake. GreatDragon AD, the Twin Warrior of the Fire of Power, you?re a generic fighter hero out for nonspecific revenge. Really is nothing there that appeals to me. Why would I read your stories? What do they offer me? Three girls trying to have sex with you? Good for you.

I suppose that?s as blunt as I could put it.

As Lorekeep would say? If you don?t like it don?t read it. So I?m not going to say anything bad about your work. Write what you want, publish what your want. If people like what you write, good. If they don?t, that?s fine too.

That?s just my opinions on the matter.

Sorry if I come off as an ass. I really REALLY suck at expressing my points in writing.

hey um skiff..... from my pensuke profile i made for the RP thread ( i reposted it on the latest page cuz i plan to come back into the game) can you give an analysis like you did with greatdragon's characters... like how original do you think he is...... cuz i for one think its friggin hard to make an original unique character or story..... nya



also in your description of his characters and how they relate to the guy charcater....... that can count in the harem anime catagory i think... unless more girls are needed...

hehehee... so much weard shit is hapening in that RP that I don't think continuity will matter... Your character could be a purple helicopter an it would work...

Besides "theMoney" will probably make your character into a platipuss when he hijacks your character.
