New Video: Fenrir's Curse

I've finally finished the second animation that I've been working, "Fenrir's Curse". You can download it here:

There's also a werewolf related meme up on my DeviantArt page:

Re: New Video: Fenrir's Curse

If I might make a suggestion for future videos, Skalla? (I'm going to go all technical, guys; my apologies!)

3D animation software has a tendency to try to "help" too much. What I mean by this is that the interpolation between keyframes sometimes causes the animation to do some unnatural things.

For example, in "Fenrir's Curse", there's a shot of her hands lifting up her vest at about 30 seconds in and the hands are kind of bending a bit too smoothly, as if the hands are preparing a bit too much to do the bending after the keyframe, then at about 33 seconds, her hands begin to pull up her vest there is a short sudden bend in before the arms return the hands to their original position.

I'm not sure which animation program you're using, but there should be a way to have access to finer controls of the interpolation between keyframes, whether it's linear or spline interpolations or some other flavor.

I still enjoyed the animation, though, immensely. Just want you to get even better.

I'm using Daz Studio 3 right now. Getting the fine controls requires buying a plug-in, though I am trying to save up .

Re: New Video: Fenrir's Curse

Skalla I really enjoyed this one even more so than your last one. It's obvious you spent some time working on the animations and cloth ripping and what not. It's also apparent that you have your own visual style going on that's different than everybody else's (like Mako or Leviathan for example). What I want to ask is if you'd be open to doing a few of my ideas in a CG form such as this, short and sweet in which I could pay you for the work which of course would allow you to buy some of the plug ins you are trying to save up to buy.

I'm not saying I could drop a $1,000 or something on you, but I could work something out with you I'm sure. My reasons for doing some of my ideas are two fold:
1) a CG character is much easier to use than a live actor or actress
2) if the idea works out well in CG, it'll be possible to use it as a sort of animatic for doing a live action clip, specifically, to assist TMC in doing some of their live action clips by showing them, visually, almost frame for frame what they should be shooting for.

If you're open to these things, lets PM and work out some ideas. I'm sure you could use the extra money and practice, and the community as a whole will get to see more transformational videos thanks to you. Let me know what you think! <3

The good new is that the plug-in isn't that expensive. The bad news (for me) is that I really am that broke. If you aren't familiar with it, Daz Studio is pretty much Poser, only the basic version is free. I'll send you a private message with more details.

I'm mildly amused to hear that I have a unique style given that the predecessor to "Fenrir's Curse" was pretty much a straight adaptation of the famous scene in the Howling. I made a few changes because holy crap does the muzzle take a long time in the movie. Heck, the woman could have made a cup of tea while waiting for the transformation to finish.

On a more serious note, my other hobby is photography and that experience probably means I do stuff other people don't. Comparatively few of the 3D artists I've seen bother to use depth of field in their renders. Having a virtual camera also makes it easy to do tricks like the dolly zoom at the beginning of "Odd."

PS Is anyone else weirded out by the realization that Eddie Quist and the holographic doctor on Star Trek Voyager were played by the same guy?
