Favorite Final Fantasy Character collection

I am working on a new RPG maker idea with a Final Fantasy cosplay themed story and I wanted to ask a question of anyone with a moment to answer. Could I ask anyone reading this, to post their favorite Playable character from each final fantasy that you have played. Example: If you only played FF2, FF6, FF7, and FF13, then pick your favorite playable character from each and yoru answer would be something like this:
FF2: Firion
FF4: Kain
FF6: Celes
FF7: Cid
FF13: Lightning
Then make sure to point out who your favorite of thoses choices is.
It can be for any reason whatsoever. Only playable characters please, and no villains, or guest characters like General Leo, or Beatrix(I know they are cool, but I need to narrow the selection). Thank you to anyone who posts, as you are helping me out.

After having discussed it with the other person making the game the following games are acceptable to include: Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, Tactics, Tactics Advanced, Tactics advanced 2, Any 2 title (Final Fantasy X-2/13-2) or any sequel/spin off game attached to one of the main games(Crisis Core). Dissidia is just characters from the others, but if you want to pick a good guy from dissidia then sure. No other series i.e. Kingdom Hearts, Chrono trigger(though its awesome!) ect....
Sorry Kingdom Heart fans, do not hate me, but I am just not a real fan of the series. Plus that would open the list to disney characters, so that would be too inclusive. HOWEVER If you like a Final fantasy character that appears in kingdom hearts, and that is your only experience with that character(and they are a good guy) then you can nominate them as a choice. That is fine.

I have only played one Final Fantasy game. 7.

My favorite character in FF7 was Yuffie. In FFX and X-2, which I have seen but never played, my favorite character would have to be Rikku (followed closely by Yuna but Rikku beats Yuna out just by a hair).

If you include movies, Final Fantasy: Spirits Within: Aki Ross (obviously).

Having played...well pretty much all of them here is my list:

FF1: Fighter (seriously..mine hardly takes more than 1 point of damage!)
FF2-5: *shrugs. Didn't really care for those. They were good for the most part but the characters as a whole were bland, the only one that sticks out to me is Cecil from FF4 from this whole lot. This was still the early days of the series, though.*
FF6: Sabin. Because he is just this awesome. This is probably my overall favorite FF character.
FF7: Cid
FF8: HAHAHA...no.
FF9: Vivi.
FF10: Auron. The only character in the game that didn't make me want to punch someone when they spoke. Such an awesome character was wasted on this horrible game.
FF10-2: *Tosses disc into open fire* This one shouldn't exist...
FF12: Own it...PS2 died before I could play most of it. I pass on this one.

FFT: Ramza. Turn him into a monk and you might as well have created a GOD.

And since the game is awesome (And from the same company), I shall also throw in a bonus character:
Chrono Trigger: Robo.

(What I am trying to get at here is: Most of the FF series characters are horribly annoying, ESPECIALLY the ones in FF10. The series has generally gone downhill since the 16 bit era with a few that stand out, 7 and 9 being the notable ones. Six shall ever be my favorite, however.)

Do side-games and spin-offs count? For example, I've played Crisis Core, but not FF7. Or, as another example, I've played both Dissidia games, but not all of the numbered FF games. Also, is Kingdom Hearts acceptable, since FF characters cameo in the series?
