Feedback: BESC Free Comic Book Day
Looking for some feedback on the free comic book day addition from the BESC/GC/BC (I'm not entirely sure what they call themselves). Hopefully everyone who wanted to check it out has gotten a chance to as it was a free download. It seemed like a fun idea to bring everything together but maybe it came out too cluttered? I'll also be the first to admit I'm not entirely sure how to make bimbofication work. Even if folks didn't particularly like my story, hopefully this will become an annual thing-- someone else picking up the torch next time around if the demos so deem it.
Cheers |

I did not find out there was a free comic until it was too late.

At least as of the moment I'm posting this, you can still get the free comic by going to the BESC's announcement page, clicking on the image in the May 4 post, and going through the newsletter signup process.

Re: Feedback: BESC Free Comic Book Day
That plot seems a lot like the Con`Fused story I'm doing over at mindcontrolcomics.
Not that the basic premise is a completely original idea or anything. EDIT: I wasn't able to get it because I wasn't even aware of it and I frequent a LOT of the mc/bimbo sites and threads. So my advice is, next time: do better marketing. Plan in advance and get the word out so people know to go there and look for it. FCBD give away is a great idea (MCC should have done it) and pretty universal in the comics world, but it does zero good if no one knows it's there. For you or for the site. It was okay. The art was a bit inconsistent in some spots.

Re: Feedback: BESC Free Comic Book Day
If I had my way all my stories would be drawn up by Portal
![]() As far as marketing goes though, It would have been nice to have any sort of publicity, but that side of things isn't in my job description at the moment. Can't say I've read it, but I assure you any similarities were coincidental....or maybe I've been targeted with subliminal messaging! Either way, I really hope free comic book day comics catches on in the fetish community, not just for BESC. So here's hoping for next years more publicized event. |

To be honest, I don't find the art to be bad. It's serviceable for the boobies, and whatnot, but it's only the minor details that look off, to me.
Still, I can't completely complain about it for being free, and for being a fun FCBD-thing, no less. |

Re: Feedback: BESC Free Comic Book Day
On the one hand, one shouldn't complain regarding a free comic book. On the other, however, this is a marketing tool meant to put your best foot forward. Frankly speaking: if this is what the BE Story Club thinks of as Grade-A material, I'm not very confident in purchasing their other product.
First off, there is a LOT of sexy fetish material for transformations fans to enjoy, don't get me wrong. There is a ton of the good stuff brought to vivid life by a very good artist. But beyond the growth and expansion sequences... the story made no sense, the characters were nonexistent (or at least inconsistent), and a wide variety of random sub-plots pop in out of nowhere. For example: 1. Who is the crazy giantess who jumps out and attacks them on page 8? 2. Why doesn't Eric's friend immediately recognize the Mom? I know she's younger at this point, but the friend already knows that the women are going through some weird changes and was in the area for the sole purpose of finding her. 3. How did Billy get magic powers off ebay? 4. What exactly was Billy's plan? How were giantesses with bouncy-castle-sized tits supposed to "save" the fandom from the corporate whores? 5. Why does the girl say "Thanks so much for saving us" to Billy on page 10? I think the main problem is that this story tries to do far too much in its brisk running time. If only it were a 2 or even 3 part story, then it might have had a fighting chance to work: establishing all of the characters, better set up for plot points, and even more time for the transformations themselves! It really is too bad, because it is a fun idea with almost all of my favourite transformation fetishes jammed into a single adventure. Oh well, better luck next time lads!

Re: Feedback: BESC Free Comic Book Day
This is very true, as there are better stories (and creative teams) among both GTS Club and BE Story Club's selection. But, there are a lot of crap stories. I was going to be polite and not mention that this story was bad, but I couldn't quite articulate it in the same way Valeyard has.

I don't rely on anyone else to promote my work. If I have a new book or thing coming out, I make threads or post in appropriate threads to draw attention to it. Every time there's a new Beyond Rubies coming out you can bet that there will be at least 2 threads on Process Forums alone as well as MCF, dA, my blog etc. I'll even advertise it on 4chan. It's up to you to get the word out. |
