Goodbye for now

I hate to have to post this, but it seems that I'll be having to say goodbye for some uncertain amount of time. My extreme inability to be a functioning human has led to me losing my employment, and as such I soon won't be able to visit the site at all. I've made some friends here in the inflation community and I enjoyed talking and chatting with you all. Hopefully this doesn't take long to remedy and I'll be back and enjoying expanding breasts with everyone else. Until then, farewell.

Re: Goodbye for now

Take this in the spirit it's intended: if you were in retail, go into labor. If you can't do either, consider eBay-trading. I've been in the retail sector for six years now, and - while decent people are decent all around - the morons are just getting dumber and more belligerent. Winning combination.

So I'll probably be going back into menial labor for a steady paycheck, and continue my retail employment until I tell the wrong dumbshit angling for us eating $500 of parts and labor because "we ran the tests to find the problem with his computer" - which ultimately led to the 10-year-old Caviar Green that he never defragged and left open to the elements head-crashing during the drive-scan phase - precisely where he can shove his complaint letter to the RVP.

Best of luck in your future endeavours!

Re: Goodbye for now

Thanks. I won't be going away immediately, but probably in the near future till I find my footing. I was in heavy labor, and I don't want to return to that. I'm sure I'll find something that I can do and enjoy, or at least I hope I do.

Re: Goodbye for now

Wish you the best of luck sir, it's always nice to see some comments by you all over the place, plus I like your name. ^_^ As somebody who also jumped from job to job to job for years I can throw a few things out there for you. Temp agencies could be a start. You go in, they do all the work and call you when your skills match something they can send you to do. Easy but not always long term. Fast food or Gas Stations. Shitty pay usually, usually part time to start and odd hours but it's generally easy as shit depending on if you get to cook or run registers or not. It's not a lot of money but it's money. Of course I have to throw out Walmart. A mixed bag and really depends on your experience. Pay isn't great for the basic jobs but they're generally a bit better than fast food, have easier hours because they try to cater to students and almost always seem to be hiring(the ones near where I live do anyway). Finally, Grocery stores also tend to hire a lot of people for similar reasons to Walmart. The downside near me that I've seen is they need a lot of night shift people, stock people usually and the pay is average at best, but that of course can be better or worse depending on the store type and your location.

I probably didn't need to tell you any of that, but just in case you might not consider some of these places, I thought what the hell, I'd throw them out anyway. I know they may all suck, but some money is usually better than zero money, so it could help you stay around and on your feet, at least for a while until something better comes along. Good luck regardless, take care of yourself!

Just know we will all be here for you when you get back.

Remember, gigs are gigs. Sure, we would love to do what we enjoy for work but, 99% of the gigs I have had well..sucked. When in doubt, make your own opportunity and play the game of the peddler as so many do on the Interwebz.

Every job and any job has a value to you as a person as, you learn something from each and grow within it. No matter how crappy it is.

If you have a vehicle and don't live in a bad area of town, the most lucrative low-skilled work I've found is delivering pizzas. If you're good at it(have a smile plastered on your face, always remember to deliver orders right, etc) you average about $10-13 an hour in tips.

Been there and done that and, honestly I loved it!!

Getting paid to drive and be out of some office or shop was about as cool as things got for me at that point in my life. And OOOOOOO the pretty women I met delivering pizzas and others foods. *sigh* Happy memories.

Re: Goodbye for now

Thanks guys, I'll look into all of those. I'm gonna see what I can find so that hopefully I can get something I really want and just do this in the meantime to earn cash. I appreciate all the help and warm wishes Don't go about exterminating the human race while I'm gone, Daleksec :P

Re: Goodbye for now

Now why would I exterminate all of the funny, squeaky monkeys? The ones that make me laugh can stay. *grin*

Buck up, srsly and remember, the best thing in life is making your own opportunities. Even in the worst economic times, folks still not only manage but, make a pretty decent living once they get off the reservations of societal norms and strike out on their own.

And honestly, from the heart, some of the dumbest, most absurd jobs I have had in my life were, some that I enjoyed the most. I genuinely miss bar tending and am seriously considering reopening the gun shop I once had.

Never be crushed by worrying about making it big or socking away a Million Bucks. Enjoy each, little financial victory and focus on that.

Re: Goodbye for now

Now would be an INCREDIBLE time to open up a gun shop! You should do it! Being from Texas, I have a lot of friends that are into guns and so you hear about people buying them a lot and stuff. If you were reasonably priced and in the right area, you could make a killing! (figuratively or literally depending on who bought your guns :P) ((wow, that's horrible.))

Anyway, I have some more leeway now with finding a job. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I have some stuff open to me that I might take. I'm sure it'll all work out in the end.

In the meantime, what do you think about Matt Smith leaving at Christmas? I'm personally excited and ready for the 12th Doctor

Re: Goodbye for now

Doo HOO!!

Sadly, that was the main reason I closed the last gun shop I had. Price point. Firearms and shooting is, for most of us if we are honest, a hobby. Thankfully, it is very very rare that anyone ever has to directly use one for a life or death situation.

Right now, for example, unless one is ready to spend at least $600+, on a handgun, what you will wind up with is crap and, if you are the one selling it, the moron will come back with his gripes about it.

Of course, the BIG problem right now is ammo. Ain't nobody got some it seems and, what does make it to the big box shops, tends to go out the door in moments. Only to be sold on the secondary market on Armslist and the like.

Thankfully, Barry Ombozo has effectively neutered himself so, most folks are starting to calm down from the panic of Jan. on. I doubt he will pass much more than wind after all of the stuff that is coming out and, what is to come down the pipe. lol

I am sure you will work it all out as it really is true that there are opportunities out there. Regardless of the doom and gloom being pushed by the Press. Any gig is always better than no gig.

As for Matt Smith...yeah...he was wearing thin of late and some new blood is due. I know it will not happen but...John Hurt as the Doctor, for a season would be brilliant!! Hey, one can dream. XD

Re: Goodbye for now

Yeah I have a friend that's kinda into guns and he was saying how the companies are just now starting to catch up with supply for the demand of bullets.

I don't know if I want to see John Hurt as the Doctor for a full season, but I DO hope he's not just in like two episodes. I want to know the one that broke the promise. That was the most exciting thing that happened in Series 7, at least for me. I sure hope they don't break the series up again, to me that really hurt the show.
