Hey everyone! I've been doing some very serious thinking/planning and I have a very cool idea for a film-related thing I'd love to do this year. But given the history of werewolf projects and crowdfunding (eg. Freeborn), would anyone still be up for supporting something like that? Obviously, I'd give out more details closer to launching the campaign, but I just wanted to get a general sense of how you guys feel about another crowdfunding thing.
I could understand that you'd all be cautious. I would be, too. My goal is to give you a female transformation that's better than the recent stuff. So not Teen Wolf and not porn. Maybe not female AAWIL (for several reasons, not just makeup), but definitely as believe and detailed as possible. It would be in the $2000-5000 range. |

Re: Okay, new question for Werewolf Fans! Would you fund another Indiegogo?
I'd be interested, but only with some demo pictures and videos. If someone were to set out to do something of this scale, I'd want to see something tangible before throwing in any money.

I would love to fund this movie! Yeah but just like what the other person said. Just images and such.

First, I'd say no. These campaigns are doomed to fail... and you know it
![]() And about the previous comments, Kanto should expend what he will expect to get in order to offer you the previews you want. In other words, a "vicious cycle" that goes nowhere. As it was commented so many times, there were others, well prepared, with solid storyboards, large experience and contacts, and they didn't manage to make it. |

I'll never support another Indiegogo ever again. I only support Kickstarter campaigns now. The fact any funds committed are taken whether funding goals are met or not, has completely turned me away from Indiegogo

Ultimately, they kind of pulled the literal reverse of the stereotypical cliché crowdfunded game stories: While others raked hundred of thousand of dollars only to deliver failure.... these folks without even reaching a much smaller goal than most of these other teams still continued development(at no small cost to themselves, their studio almost biting it to release the game) with what little they got thanks to indigogo's policy to ultimately release what could be best described as a budget-priced success. Though admittedly... we're still talking about something much more mainstream(a roguelike game) than a werewolf short centered around the idea of a woman transforming into a werewolf. I'm not saying it couldn't be pulled off.... but that's something that'd need to be presented by a more notable person than someone in the "community". Though, still, said game is why I'd be hesitant to diss indigogo's policy because otherwise some of my favorite indie devs might not exists as a studio anymore. |

As a few people have already stated, I’d be willing to help fund the project if there was more proof-of-concept than just a few sentences: concept sketches, storyboards, teaser videos, etc. Never underestimate the importance of marketing your product, especially to its intended niche audience.

It is possible to run Indiegogos that have minimum funding requirements. These days the advantage of indiegogo is that you get the money about a month faster than Kickstarter, and there's something like 1 or 2% less taken for the site's overhead.
Regardless I would not submit money to a project for someone to reinvent the wheel. I'm not paying for someone's training and education. Prove that you have the knowledge and connections to make this thing exist, and the only thing standing in your way is the money required to get everyone in the same room.

Do you even know how to make a film, let alone do special effects?

The mind is willing.
The wallet, not so much. ![]() Seriously, though, I've had relatively good experiences with both IGG and Kickstarter and I kinda understand the possible risks involved, so I guess I'd be for it. :| |

I would be willing to lend my skills to a project, but what little money I make goes to my bills, sorry.
