Planning TF Story set at Kings Park Psych Center

I grew up on Long Island, NY and kind of want to pay homage to that in my next story, which will be set in the long-abandoned Kings Park Psychiatric Center. Here's a link to the Wikipedia article to give you an idea of what this place is like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kings_...hiatric_Center . It's off the charts creepy and perfect for a TF story.

Here's what I'm thinking: a group of young people go there to explore one night. The young women find a mysterious substance that causes them to transform into some type of viscous creature. The guys are then chased around the dark, abandoned Building 93 getting picked off one at a time.

Any thoughts or suggestions? What should the young ladies transform into?

Well, it is a Psych Center. Perhaps they become crazy like foxes?

A glossy black skinned alien, demoness, werewolf, bee-girl, etc?

I hope to be horror comedy, will there be a heroine sacrificing herself to be a monster to save her friends?

Werewolf, duh.

Off the top of my head... the girls find an old medical storage room with blood samples of an especially crazy person who believed they were a werewolf. Turns out that person wasn't crazy, they were really a werewolf and the samples in storage are still contagious. They get exposed while goofing around telling the story of the crazy werewolf person that was locked up there. (person's name is on the samples, and one of the group remembers stories about that patient).

I like the idea. When I think of creepy psychiatric hospitals on the eastern seaboard, I think of Lovecraft. I say, go with some sort of carnivorous tentacly horror.

In my mind, I'm kind of imagining something similar to a felhound from the Warcraft series or a displacer beast from D&D..
