Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
Well the title says it all, doesn't it?
Yeah, I'm somewhat disappointed by the recent turn in the content that has appeared on the Shrink Fan Comic site and I'm curious to see what others think. (Remember, what I'm about to state is my personal opinion. If you disagree, feel free to comment, but please...let's keep it civil). Magical Mischief - Basically a quick story of two wizard apprentices who fall for a faerie's charms and are transformed / shrunk into faeries themselves. My take? First, it was a disappointment because it wasn't truly Shrinking Woman as it was more of a Transformation comic...which is revealed since it also appears in the Transform Fan site as well. Thus, it wasn't really a Shrink Fan comic as it was simply a cross-over, which thus benefits both the Shrink Fan and Transform site to give content. Overall...I wasn't impressed. Sorry, but it felt like a throw-away issue with a basic premise that had no real plot or story except to say that the two wizard apprentices were gullible idiots, and their instructor should be embarrassed that they didn't bother to instruct their apprentices as to the wiles of faeries before they got it in their minds to try to subdue one. Trek Through the Microverse: When I saw this title, I was intrigued to see where it would go. However, in the end, it was a disappointment. Why? Simple...in the end, she ended up right back where she started (although it doesn't make sense how she did that) except that she was left as a giantess when the suit dies. There was potential, and it was lost with little more than a panel by panel exposition of her shrinking more and more, until she somehow went full circle, which wasn't explained. Upcoming Descent: I think others have already said enough about this issue, specifically how the entire roommate being a slob, yet somehow creating the means to shrink his roommate. As was indicated, there was little if any real plot and it left me really not caring what would happen in the next episode. Tinier Treatment: Now this one was good, I won't deny this. I loved it. Going microscopic and coming back to be short yet still enjoying it. That was a solid and enjoyable two-issue story. Well done. Undertoe and Lofty Leather: You see, I enjoyed the first two issues of Undertoe, but now...this crossover thing just didn't work for me. It's all I can say. The Little Things In Life: Honestly...couldn't get into this one. I get it...famous singer wants to be able to let her hair down against the wishes of a controlling manager, but it was missing something. Observe and Reduce: Cute idea that I felt was mishandled. Honestly, someone is being shrunk and doesn't notice it until they're so small that it smacks them in the face? I'm sorry, but if I found myself shrinking in my chair, I'd be well aware of the fact that my feet were off the floor and my clothes were clearly not fitting properly. Simply viewing the world in larger proportions should have been enough to let her know something was up, but no. Nice attempt, but not the quality I expect from you guys. Look, I've said this before and I'll say it again...you've (meaning the folks in charge of the Shrink Fan site) have material that has been sitting for months if not years...(Hello? When are we going to get the next installment of the Small Fortune comic? The last installment came out TWO YEARS AGO, and that was the one that got me into this site in the first place! There is a good plot going on, and I want to see where it goes.) Unfortunately, it feels like the top-tier illustrators / writers have all gone on an extended sabbatical and we're left with the minor league (no offense) folks whose ideas for stories are just not up to the level of excellence I came to expect from the site. The next three comics I'm seeing in the pipeline do not fill me with hope that this is changing either. I know I'm not the only one, but I feel I've got to say...I feel like the level of quality of the comics we're seeing recently are not on the same level as those that first appeared when the Shrink Fan site first began. Respectfully. MarauderTDL |

Re: Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
Some of those where disappointing. Speaking mostly to "Upcoming Descent" and "The Little Things In Life." "Magical Mischief" on the other hand is something completely different as it is a transformation comic.
"Trek Through the Microverse" I found interesting but that ending was not so logical. As for the unfinished comics, it is likely that the authors moved on. Or they no longer are able to make one. My suggestion is that people try to make stories they want to see. It wouldn't surprise me if Shrink Fan doesn't have enough writers to make comics. I have been trying to make one myself but so far can't finish it. Three different versions of the same story and I don't like how they turned out. There is to be a giantess version as well. Sort of like a chose your size adventure. Let us try and be optimistic about Shrink Fan MarauderTDL.

Re: Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
Magical Mischief: I haven't see it yet, but crossovers aren't always good.
Trek Through the Microverse: I haven't watch it neither when I have heard that it wasn't so good. Upcoming Descent: Seems promising, but I ain't gonna say anything until the next part is out. Tinier Treatment: This one was awesome no less. Undertoe and Lofty Leather: Like I said before crossovers aren't so good and this one is not exception, I would give it a 5/10. The Little Things In Life: I haven't watch it but by the premise I would say that is ok. Observe and Reduce: It wasn't bad either but it feels like if is something is missing. The upcoming ones seems good, but we have to wait for a better opinion. Shrinkfan content is decent and there are times when is great, not the best but it has better ideas than other sites that give shrinking fetish material, like dreamtales for example, when it comes with shrinking fetish, Shrinkfan kicks dreamtales ass and yeah I heard about the problem that dreamtales has with their R-18 content, but Shrinkfan doesn't tease their audience more often like dreamtales do. In conclusion of my opinion, Shrinkfan is the best site at the moment that do shrinking woman comics(it even has good R-18 content) and has good artists too, the only problem that I found is that some of the comics are abandoned, like Witches Gone Wild, Small fortune and Laundry day(I had read the story of this last one and is good), I don't know how it works the things in Interwebcomics, if one can contribute for a comic to come out or not, but I guess we only have to wait and see what it comes in the future. |

Re: Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
I think the problems with ShrinkFan's content you're experiencing are exacerbated by their slower release schedule. I think percentage wise I'm just as disappointed with Expansion Fan, but that's because not every comic is going to be made specifically for what I want.
I really liked Magical Mischief and was very happy with its inclusion. As far as upcoming comics for ShrinkFan? I'm very interested to see A Sneak Peak! Boom, Boom, Shrink! looks like it has potential, but I'm not very into that art style. Birdsong Rising is an automatic loss for me because I never want to see clothes shrink with the shrinkee... but that's a personal bias of mine.

Re: Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
Honestly, beyond Magical Mischief (which didn't feel like a shrink comic but was a middle of the month crossover release so I don't hold it as a negative), the last "lesbian" tagged comic was The Invisible Girl 2 from 2019 and from the list if you search for lesbian, only true desire and survival of the smallest are what I consider lesbian centered comics with Laundry day being a kiss at the end and a "To be continued" from 2018.
It would be nice to get a lesbian centered comic where the one being shrunk isn't in some mortal peril/at the mercy of some cruel dominatrix. Like.. A "slice of life" casual shrink story of a cute lesbian couple would be to die for. I'm so very tired of SW stories where the one shrinking is "fearing for their life" over some thing that would make them think they are in danger. It's always "Oh no, I'm shrinking forever." Or "I'm at the mercy of a cruel master!" Or the ever popular "I'm going to be eaten, stepped on, crushed and have to run for my life!" It's all too hectic or (And I know, this is a rant, no hate towards men) centered around pleasing men or something around a cock. Bleh. |

Re: Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
Okay. So at least some of this falls directly on my shoulders, y'all. That in mind, let me address what you've said here, starting with...
Quote:
While I found the idea for Microverse intriguing, myself, we do understand some people's criticism of it, and it's not entirely without merit. While it is fun to do something a bit different sometimes, we get that this may disappoint some people, given that you usually only get one per month. The Little Things in Life has a few fun surprises coming in future issues. If you give it a chance, it might turn around for you. I would argue that your reasons for disliking the other ones you mentioned are fairly subjective, as we know some folks DID enjoy them. But I also get why it would be frustrating for you to have several in a row that didn't really do it for you (other than Treatment). Small Fortune is entirely my dropped ball. I've had a very...eventful couple of years, coupled with a bad case of writer's block on that particular story. I really am working on it, but I can't give an ETA just yet. Wish I could. We have had a few issues with writers or artists simply no longer being available, or taking a long time to get around to working with us again. I've also had a hard time attracting authors - which is definitely not a problem I've had nearly as often over on TFan. Frankly, TDL, I'd be thrilled if you wanted to contribute something; I loved your work back in the day. It is my hope that fans of Undertoe will like Birdsong Rising, which is somewhat similar in tone, but viewed through a different lens and has more of the heroine actually using her shrinking superpowers in action (as well as in the bedroom). And A Sneak Peek combines the great artwork of Bokuman with a really fun, cute story. I've also got one in the works called Mini Mistress that I really hope y'all will like. It's by Hmage, who did the lovely Invisible Girl comics, and has a similarly sexy vibe. And we've got a continuation of scidram's Laundry Day in the works, as well. Quote:

Thanks for the vote of confidence, as well. It's always nice to know that people are appreciating our stuff, even if we're not hitting 100% of the time. Quote:
Quote:
Glad you liked Mischief! And yeah, Sneak Peek is a fun one, in my opinion. Quote:
SPOILERS: One Extreme to Another is very much going to end up a cute lesbian size-kink story, and my upcoming Mini Mistress will have some pleasant lesbian content before it's all said and done. We've also got one in production called Shrinking Safari that will also have some fun lesbian size stuff. And as I told TDL, if you want to submit a script, I'm all ears. In fact let's just go ahead and extend that invitation to all of y'all in this thread, yeah?

I am dying to see a followup to One Little Marble as well. I keep meaning to try and write a script to submit, but I know I've submitted ideas in the past and then never gotten around to writing the scripts, so I always hold back.

Re: Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
Well, if qzarr is gonna mention it, then it's no longer a secret that Laundry Day 2 is in production. Script was written right after part 1 was made, and whatever delays in production on ShrinkFan's end happened. No matter because it's coming. The artwork is awesome, and it's only slightly different than the story I wrote in the late 90s. I hope people enjoy it whenever it's released, but as a content creator, I understand it may not be everyone's cup of tea.
And as qzarr said, if there's a story you want to see, consider writing a script. I've not only adapted existing works of mine (like Laundry Day and Small Sacrifice), but I've written new pieces (Littlest Sister, Cat & Mouse, Life Diminished) because they were concepts I wanted to see.

Well the basic story is done. I just don't like the finished drafts. There is just so much that doesn't work. Though a few parts may be salvageable. Quote:
Writing as it turns out is easier said than done. But I'm happy there are people who can do it.

Re: Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
For my part, I like the crossover issues. I understand that people only subscribed to the shrinking stuff, but as long as it's a free bonus, bring it on.
The rest is difficult. One takes a lot of process, the other sex scenes. For some, shrinking without shrinking out of closes is useless. I have come to terms with the fact that I cannot and will not like every issue. As long as I like the majority of the comics, I will remain a subscriber and that is still the case. If you only ever offered the same kind of story, the site would end up like Dreamtales. There, too, you can find nice stories, but very little variation. But I would agree that there are a lot of to be continued stories, all of which have unfortunately been dropped. That's a shame. |

Re: Shrink Fan Content Disappointment
Admittedly, I'd like to try and submit a script at some point, but not only do I not yet have a story that would fit Shrink Fan's style (I can't write a story that's 100% serious 100% of the time: I need to inject some humor SOMEWHERE), but even if I DID have a story, I'm not exactly in a comfortable position to submit it. So... yeah.
Then again, I can't even afford a subscription, so I don't think this applies to me... |
