Girdle of Opposite Gender

In the new Pathfinder RPG book, the Advanced Player's Guide, an old favorite cursed item of mine has made a reappearance, the girdle of opposite gender.

The item itself is on page 311, but the art is several pages later on page 313. I've attached the art for those interested and it is indeed process related though sort of a cheat. Apologies for the really rough clean-up in Photoshop.

Loving this book so far and can't wait to plop this one in an adventure just for the fun of it.

So even the makers of DnD are self aware enough to realize that all their female characters inevitably have tighter, more form fitting clothes than males as some sort of universal mandate.

To be fair, it is the -girdle- of the opposite gender; it wouldn't be much of a girdle (in either of the two meanings of the word) if it weren't tight. Beyond that, the sleeves are loose and there are at least three layers of fabric across the chest. The breasts are large but might be completely lost in the robes without the (non-optional) girdle.

Furthermore...

I see no evidence of this. The hands and arms are too vague to tell, the breasts and hips are covered by too much clothing and girdle, and the face hasn't been touched yet. When I first looked at it, the size of the breasts and the fact that they are basically resting on the girdle suggested an older woman to me. It's inconclusive as far as I'm concerned.

I know there are a lot of unfortunate "givens" in TG transformations, including ageism and stereotyping, but it doesn't help to assume the worst without any real supporting evidence.

Re: Girdle of Opposite Gender

I payed 40 euros for a Pathfinder book today, because a friend was being a bastard and didn't let me borrow his.

Anyway, I like what I see. And how much does that book cost again?

Off the Paizo website it's $40 US for the hardcover version and only $10 US for the PDF.

Well yes, it is not possible for fiction to turn someone into an unattractive person of the opposite gender. It's a rule.

Pretty sure I've actually seen that a few places, but it's not very common.
