I asked this question on the "Can't Post" thread, but it might have gotten lost there. When you visit the site now without logging in, only 4 subforums, AR/AP, BE, RP and F&BS are "private" and completely inaccessable. Any unregistered user can see all the thread titles and posters and users can read a limited number of post pages before getting asked to register. I get that it's supposed to be a teaser, but I'd prefer a bit more privacy with the real fetish discussion.

Could we go back to the old standard of having all the forums except social stuff like General and F&BS private?

Whatevs, but please DO NOT make FBS google searchable! I've been much too much of a nympho there! Also, it's a place of nasty debate and would not make the site look good IMHO. Keep FBS private, please!

Drachen, for the time being I am going to keep things the way they are. This may change in the future though, as you can see I have my reasons for allowing this change.

Ohzone, Granted. I don't plan on allowing non-members from seeing the goings on of Flame and Bullshit.

Fair enough. The forum is yours now, but you're kind of an unknown quantity at the moment. We don't know you, your reasons or your motives yet.

The process itself was an unknown quantity to many people for quite a while, if giving a peek to the newest generation of process lovers out there does become a detriment then rest assured it will be addressed.

I think it's more than a peek (think Google), but I can understand why you would want some open. Why close what you've closed?

You're kind of avoiding the real question though. I've been around since the early 90's and I've known Lorekeep in a bunch of forums/IRC channels/ect since at least the mid 90's, so I know who he is. This is a well established forum and a lot of us have been around more than 5 years here. You've made 6 posts so far to the forum under an unknown handle and nobody has any clue as to who you are or what your goals for the forum are. I think "who are you?" is a fair question.

Well, and it's not even so much not knowing the governing style, as it is not knowing anything about our new overlord. It could be left in vague allusions to a brief but illustrious history with the community, but it should not be left as "no introduction required" at all.

Well, it was posted by Lorekeep that he was looking to pass the reins over to Bozo or Seadog. Shortly thereafter, a new account was created named the Governor. I'd start your thought process with either of them. If it is Bozo, I'm pretty happy. He has a proven track record of being levelheaded. Seadog on the other hand I just don't know well. Nothing to say one way or the other regarding him.

No, Bozo and Seadog were noted as giving Lore pause with their criticism of his intent to close the site. They're partially responsible for the site's continued existence, but no more likely to be the new owner than a hundred other people.

A grander entrance will come in due time. Preparations, site modifications, and additions are taking up most of my free time at the moment.
