What do you think are the sound effects for expansion/growth?

Just something that crossed my thoughts recently.

So what do you think are the 'proper' sound effects for expansion / growth effects are, in English language? Whenever I read expansion-related materials, most of them seem to use 'grow', 'swell', 'stretch' and such, instead of true onomatopoeia. What interests me is that Japanese language seem to have more of these SFX for their comics, compared to English. So, what do you think are suitable onomatopoeia for growth effects in English?
