Re: Rick Baker Design of “Cursed” Werewolf

I actually heard an explanation recently for why movie posters are so terrible these days, and it might be cross applicable. The man who did the posters for Star Wars can't get work anymore, and they just use photographs of the cast for them. Their reasoning is that they'll have focus groups where they'll put up a photo poster and an illustrated poster, and then ask which poster makes potential viewers more likely to see the movie. They'll reply neither, which proves to the studio that they can just go with the cheaper option and lose out on nothing.

Lots of people want to see werewolf movies. A whole lot of them have no preference for digital vs practical. I can think of tons of reasons why digital is cheaper than practical, but I think the largest is that every scene you do digital is one more scene you don't need your principal actors hanging around for.
