Swedish Virtual Size-Change Experiment
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...-illusion.html
Scientists at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden have found a way to make people feel like they've changed size. Using virtual reality headsets, the subject is given the point of view of one of two dummies, one doll-sized and one thirteen feet tall. They show the doll being touched, and at the same time, touch the same spot on the subject's body, making them feel like they're really giant or tiny. Subjects reported being disoriented by the experience. They say this could have practical uses for remote-controlling robots, but I think we all know how we'd use the tech. |
