Because people's good intentions of providing them with 'investment money' won't work forever. They're getting income now that they can invest for better quality. If they don't do that, the amount of people buying will decline hitting their profitmargin very directly.

Offcourse this depends entirely on whether TMC notices that good quality props can still be cheap and profitable enough and that they get that even if they only ask 3 days in advance.....they could actually order some stuff for the vid after that instead of using the 'not enough time' answer to avoid better-looking props. With the price of some of the props, for example latex animal-ears, it could be earned back well enough. A relatively low amount of sales per clip that uses those props would earn it back, and the rest of the sales would provide profit.
