Shrink Fan Illustration Gallery Concern
Well, I suppose this question would go to Qzar9999, not trying to put you on the spot here buddy, but I figure you'd have the best information as to what's going on here, so...here goes...
According to the information for the Illustration Giveaway: "By being a member, you gain a token every week which is used to enter the illustration giveaway. The more tokens you have, the greater chance you have of winning! Please note that it may take up to 2 weeks for your winning submission to be edited and assigned to an artist then another 4 weeks to be illustrated and uploaded to the gallery." Back in...probably May or June of this year, I put in an illustration selection and, according to the information...I WON! YEAH! (Include the appropriate sound of horns and the room filling with confetti and balloons dropping from the ceiling). I've had the pleasure of having one of my ideas illustrated before and, I must admit, I was overwhelmingly pleased with the results: College Drop-Out However, since first receiving word that I'd 'won', the notification bar has been stuck at the 'Approved and Assigned to an Artist', but not showing that this had been done. As I said...that was six or seven months ago. Not two weeks. So what's going on, Qzar9999? Is there THAT MUCH of a backlog of Giveaway Illustrations that haven't been finished that they've THAT backed up? Have the number of artists dwindled (pardon the pun) away to the point where illustrations have all but come to a halt? I'm not expecting any movement during the holiday season, of course, but given that it's been six or seven months since the initial 'You've Won!' notification, I would have thought that at least an artist had been assigned to take on the challenge which I'd offered with my submission. If that was supposed to take two weeks and it's not yet been done, I wonder how long it would take to illustrate, given that it says two weeks to assign and four weeks to illustration. Now, let me take a step back to be clear...I'm NOT trying to give you a hard time...honest. Would it be nice to see some movement on the illustration? Yeah...especially given that my submission ties in with the updated 'Toobin' Down the River' which I've since renamed 'Shenandoah Surprise' and I thought that fellow Shrinking Woman fans who have expressed such appreciation for the original story might enjoy seeing an illustrated version of a portion of it in the Gallery. It's just when I see how long it has been since it was selected...I wonder if something has happened that we on the outside looking in are not aware of that indicates there is a backlog of illustrations that are sitting and waiting to be finished. With all due respect, MarauderTDL |
