I also recommend doing this to your FAVORITE VIDEOS list as well just to be safe.

It doesn't take very long at all! Just make sure you SAVE AS with a .FLV extension. You can also download an free FLV player from the same site.

I downladed the downloader, but somethings not working right, could someone walk me through this.

Paste link into website. It will generate picture and tell you to right click and save as.

For viewing, I'm not going to scare you and make you tune some codec (although if you're into that, the FFDShow method ROCKS), so I'll just say find VLC and use that to open your new FLV files. Works like a charm.

OK, so here's the official update.

I'm not going to be adding new vids to the group for the next couple of days. Keep adding though, I'm just not going to make them public until I finish getting all of them transferred. Makes it easier for me to keep track of. I think I've got the first 100 vids down, so it could be tomorrow or a week.

Let's face it, we all knew this was gonna happen the moment YouTube got bought out. It's a corporate site now. Everybody doing the least bit grey-area is gonna get purged as YouTube regresses back into what it originally was: a piece of shit website filled with crappy home videos. To their credit, it's been happening gradually, but still . . .

If you want your AMVs, anime clips, and stuff, there's Stage6 as someone else said, there's VEOH, which is bluntly an anime treasure trove, and there's stuff like rapidshare where you gotta download, not stream.

Yeah, I'm looking at moving everything to Stage 6, but it's a huge task and I have to upload them to build up the karma to make our own channel.

It may not happen. Think of all the advertising revenue they'd lose if they did this; and Google paid a BILLION$ for the site.

I'd wait and see what happens before moving things around.

Personally, I'm curious how ThePirateBay's site will turn out once it's finished. Essentially YouTube run by law-disrespecting pirates. And, as they gleefully pointed out, one of their admins getting drunk and trashing the site led to more downtime than the servers being seized.

All I'm doing is using Stage 6 as a backup in case the videos suddenly disappear.

And the official progress report has the videos all ripped from the page. If you want to add vids, everything is back to normal on that road. I have to convert everything to DivX, so that's slowing the process a bit. The epic uploading will begin soon though.

OK, I need everyone's help big time with this. I have most of the vids downloaded and ready to upload and I'm bringing them up a few at a time. That's no problem.
