The trouble with generic sprites (not in charset form) is that they are a long arse way from being usable as sprites for the actual monsters. Is there a way you feel like manipulating any of this to be immediately of use outside of the charsets? Just let me know. |

Hey, just played the expanded alpha that rb9 posted earlier in this thread (Those of you in rb9's yahoo group may know me from the ff4 Valvalis/Rosa fic I posted there. Sorry about the shameless plug). I've just got to say, great stuff, rb9! I can tell more effort was put into this, and the gameplay shines brighter from it. I like the idea of taking the made over endings further, and controlling gameplay after a make-over ending as a minion, and the additional pictures that show up from time to time do give some incentive to explore, which is a good thing. I'm looking forward to the next update, but take your time if need be. I know full well real life gets priority to these matters (I'm in college myself, so I haven't really taken up anything new in the group). However, I'm willing to help out with some of the dialogue options in my spare time, so let me know through here or in your yahoo group.

My comments; I realize this is a very preliminary version, but I just want to point out everything I've noticed:
a) The "Celebrate" as Celes, Bath, and Sacrifice Bad Ends end a bit abruptly -- it would be nice to at least have a brief "after" scene. If you're ever feeling especially ambitious, the Celes "Bad End" would actually be a pretty good spot to hang a plot fork giving you the option to play as a monstergirl instead. b) You haven't yet flagged the cave or similar areas as "no save." c) The regular catgirl and Rosa bad ends don't go anywhere -- they don't end in a game over, fork the plot, or anything. You get to wander a bit, then hit a snag and have to quit to the title. A bit more closure would be nice. d) I might be willing to help out. I've done some writing before, and I've also worked with RPGMaker 2k and 2k3 a bit. Just dabbled, though. e) A nice cute AR would be nice. f) Hmmm... running out of things to say at the moment. Guess I'll end here for now. g) Oh, wait, just remembered something: Someone mentioned an rb9 yahoo group. Does it still exist? If so, does anyone have the address?
