Naw not the mailman, Genetics is a bit more complicated than Dominant gene recessive gene, it is all about percentages and actual genes present, Your average brown haired guy might have genes for blond or red hair, if he mates with another brown haired woman who has recessive blond or red genes then chances are 1 in 4 they will produce a red haired child. Of course it is definitively more complex than that but will work as a rough explanation.

You think that's something? In my family you had a father with black hair, mother with dark red hair, commonly called auburn, and the children, 3 redheads, 1 blonde, and one brunette. Not one kid with black hair.
How's that for playing the odds? |

Actually, they had 6. One died of polio, the third birth. Don't know what color his hair was, it was said that he was as bald as a billiard ball. Could have been black red, blond, green, orange, whatever...
