Though I never quite understood why folks who add lactation have it be this giant explosive thing, instead of anything subdued.

Part of me thinks of it as a parallel to man milk, if you know what I mean. :P

Or, in this case, the growth was quite sudden, in large bursts. After she reaches the limits she can grow, another click forces her to put all the growth she would have gotten into milk, which suddenly bursts out. I suppose.
